The church is built and officially dedicated on July 14th 1865. The temple is with three naves and a dome, but it is different from the other churches in Dobrudzha, according to the different treatment of the inner space. The apse of the church is part from the wall and do not adjoin it.
The beautiful and original wood-carving of the king’s holy gates, the iconstasis and the frescoes are made by the masters wall-painters of the Triavna painting school Zahary Zanuv and his son Stefan.
In 1913 the temple is robbed by the Romanians, and the Bulgarian church books are destroyed.
Here was held the first memorial service for the dead in the battle for the Tutrakan fortress in 1916, as also the first public prayer for the liberty of Dobrudzha in 1940.
