The first seminar of the project "One Cross-Border Region - One European Destination", MIS-ETC Code: 643, was conducted from 10 to 12 March 2011 in Silistra, Bulgaria. Host of the event was the Tourist Information Centre run by the NGO "World for All". The seminar started in the "Danube" hotel and the practical part was held in the fortress Medjidi Tabia, Tutrakan Historical Museum, the only museum in Bulgaria boat and memorial complex "Military Tomb - 1916"
Seminar participants were 34 people from Silistra and Calarasi Prefecture, representatives of guest houses, hotels, restaurants and tour operators, representatives of institutions and organizations carrying out policy for tourism development.
At the end of the seminar was conducted a study which aimed to establish to what extent the participants have improved their knowledge of tourism in the cross-border region of Silistra - Calarasi and European scale.
The results clearly show that all participants are satisfied with all subjects and give a positive assessment of the information included in them. Some participants shared their views that many of the examples shared in discussions are also applicable in the cross- border region and the sites they manage.
Participants in the seminar were asked questions to establish to what extent they had improved their knowledge on how to develop a tourist attraction and components included. Shared answers and opinions to show appreciation. According to them the development of tourist destination with a specific object of Silistra and Calarasi prefecture has given very good idea of how to develop a tourist destination.
