Second exchange visit - visit of Romanian tour operators and representatives of organizations supporting the development of tourism in Silistra

The second exchange visit took place from 6th to 8th October. This time it included a visit of the Romanian tour operators and representatives of organizations supporting the development of tourism in Silistra district and visit historical sites and tour operators in Bulgaria.
Romanian group participants arrived in Silistra on October 6th, before noon, where the first round tablewas conducted in the "Drustar" hotel. The project manager Diana Bebenova provided printed promotional materials and briefed the guests on the package of routes developed during the project. Discussed topics related to the possibility of joint cross-border marketing of product and its use by the Romanian tour operators.

Later in the afternoon, the practical part of the visit started by bus following the sites part of route 1 "On the track of time". Participants visited the Historical Museum and the Roman tomb in Silistra.
The next theme of the tour was "Something for Everyone" as part of Route 5. This part of the trip included a presentation of the possibilities for extreme and adventure tourism, rock climbing and photo safari in Silistra. Participants attended the presentation of a local company for adventure flights "Rebus 2000" and tried alone adventure flights offered by the company. After that they were acquainted with the rock monasteries in Suhodolieto that lure visitors with its exotic.

That day, the visit ended at a hotel complex in Kamentsi village, municipality Kaynardja and familiarization with Bulgarian cuisine and traditional local recipes.
During the second day, after breakfast, the tour continues with a trip to Tutrakan where participants visited the Museum of Fisheries and "Fishing neighborhood" ethnographic complex.
After lunch they traveled to Silistra, to know and Silver Reserve, site of the route "The World of Birds." Particularly the participants were welcomed by representatives of the "Silver Tour" - a local company that is actively developing rural and ecological tourism in the region. Accompanied by the Srebarna village mayor Georgi Ivanov, Bulgarians and Romanians traveled to reserve pelicans used as scenic trails and visited bases for rural tourism.

Later in the day, after returning to the hotel was conducted a second round table in cooperation with the NGO "Danube Club" and NGO "World for All". The main topic for discussion was "Opportunities for development of joint cross-border products: cycling, rowing and walking along the Danube."

During the third day of his visit, the tour continues with a visit to the Opreff winery and tasting wine from local recipes. The visit ended with a walk through the Turkish fort «Medjidi Tabia", where the historian Valentin Petkov revealed to participants unfamiliar aspects of life in these lands during the 17-18 century.
