Ostrovul Ciocanesti Nature reserve

The reserve is situated on an area of 206,7 hectares: length: 300 m, at an altitude of 15 m. and clearly defined continental climate. It is Included in the biogeographical zone and steppe ecoregion “Danube floodplain forests”. It is characterized by specific freshwater representatives - plant and animal species protected by the Conventions of Bonn (Legea nr 13/1998), Bern (Legea nr 13/1993) and CITES ((Legea nr 69/1994) and based on directives Habitate (92 / 43/EEC) and Birds (79/409/EEC)
