The Neolithic settlement “Sultana-Malu Rosu” has an important role during the study of the region’s development through the Neolithic age. It is situated at about 800 meters of the village of Sultana, next to the Mostistea lake. The first treasure of gold objects, North of Danube river is found in this settlement. It consists of three anthropomorphic figures and a chain of seven units with a total mass of 36.170 g. Ceramic pieces from a ceramic vases with an anthropomorphic form, representing the human body, magnificently decorated with geometric motifs, painted in white and red were found there. A lot of anthropomorphic figurines of clay and bone are found in the settlement. Among the archaeological materials found in the settlement there are more than 120 vessels, tools, bone tools, horn, jewellery, pendants and beads and a gold medallion.
The culture level is about 4 meters containing remains from three stages of development of the Gumelnita civilization. The studied houses are relatively small, the walls are from wood, clay and braided branches, and the roof was probably of straw. The settlement has a ditch defence of about 6 meters deep with of about 1 meter and a wide - 4.3 meters.
