Founded in the 19th century by the Greek merchant Christopher Guva. The monastery in its present form was founded in 2001. The church was converted into a monastery at the time of Abbot, who served the bishop Odaya. The monastery was destroyed in the secularization of I.P. Cuza and the church was left in the care of the peasants up to 1970-1971, when they are expelled. In August 2001 the old village church was restored, after being abandoned for 30 years without maintenance. Since 2007, the monastery became Tariceni monastery for nuns.
