The Historical Museum in the city of Tutrakan was opened in
1993 in the "Theodor's” house and is situated on three floors. The main exhibitions are:

Archeology - finds from the V century BC, Thracian pottery, artefacts from the ancient fortress Transmariska, the arrival of the Bulgarians and the Slavs and the construction of the fortress Tutrakan of the First and Second Bulgarian Kingdom.

Icons– icons of the Rennaissance of Tutrakan clerical district and taken from the church used old books and church plate, are exhibited. The icons were painted by masters from the Tryavna art school.

Ethnography – the traditional tools for the basic occupations - fishing, agriculture and handicrafts, some of the tools needed to craftsmanship, weaving and others.

Recent history - photographs, documents, objects of urban life after the Liberation.

Lapidarium– a Roman tombstones of ІІ century and archaeological finds, the column placed in honor of the visit of Sultan Mahmud II in the city in 1837, a plaque placed in 1957 in honor of the liberator of Tutrakan – Mayor general Al. V. Suvorov are situated there.
